Farook Chandiwala

​Farook Chandiwala, Board Member 2019-2021, is an American Muslim who has lived in Birmingham, Alabama for the last 30 years. He is a retired structural engineer, having worked on design and construction of civil nuclear power plants in various parts of the U.S.  He is a member of the Birmingham Islamic Society (BIS), and is the chairperson of Birmingham Interfaith Human Rights Committee (which is affiliated with the BIS).  He has been involved with the Alabama Interfaith Refugee Partnership since its inception.  He values the opportunity to serve on the board and to work with people of different faiths.
