Donna Dahl

Picture
Donna Dahl, Board Member and co-chair of the Direct Support Committee (2021-2023).  Donna has an M.A. Special Education, English as a Second Language, retired from Vestavia City Schools after teaching a wide range of  children with exceptionalities and children from many countries and cultures of the world.  Donna’s work has focused on the strengths of each child, building their capacity to become productive global citizens, and  helping families assimilate in new neighborhoods and find friendships.  Donna believes that we are all richer for our diversity and find commonalities across all ages and backgrounds. Having lived in Latin America for ten years, Donna identifies with the rhythm and joy of not only the Hispanic community but cultures of all. Donna is also an active member of Alabama Coalition for Immigrant Justice and finds volunteer opportunities to help the homeless and food insecure in the metro area serving at local food pantries.
