Divya Annamalai serves as Chair of the Communications Committee and Secretary for ALIRP (September 2022 to December 2024). She graduated in 2022 from The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a Graduate Certificate in Global Health Studies. She has also served as President of a Doctors Without Borders student chapter on her campus, and currently works for the UAB Sparkman Center for Global Health as a research assistant. Her global health interests are focused on understanding the health issues and barriers that affect migrant and refugee populations. She is also interested in researching and reducing stigma as it relates to refugee health outcomes and other health issues seen in resource constrained populations.
