Margaret "Meg" Waldie is a junior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) majoring in Political Science and Anthropology, with a minor in Spanish. She is also a part of the Global Community & Leadership program in the Honors College. Her main interest, professionally, is immigration reform and hopes to become an international human rights lawyer. Meg serves as the Birmingham Immersive Community Empowerment Program (BICEP) intern, which is a collaboration between UAB Institute of Human Rights, the David Mathews Center for Civic Life (DMC), and four community organizations, namely Lakeshore Foundation, the Offender Alumni Association (OAA), the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Alabama Women’s Rights Program, and ALIRP. In her internship, Meg is coordinating a photovoice project with ALIRP Partners.
