Leonela M. Ramirez

Picture
Leonela "Leo" M. Ramirez is the Communications Manager for ALIRP.  She brings fresh ideas and designs to ALIRP and leads the development of ALIRP’s digital and print media content. Leo also manages the organization’s [email protected] email, helping to respond to general inquiries about the nonprofit.

When asked about her experience at ALIRP, Leo shares that it has been a rewarding opportunity to learn how to better support refugees and asylum seekers, and to help them feel welcomed in the Birmingham area.

Originally from El Salvador, Leo grew up in the Birmingham area. She recently graduated from Jacksonville State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, along with two micro-credentials in Social Media Management and Equity & Diversity. She plans to further her education by pursuing either a master's degree or a law degree in the future.
